Youth Parliament Standing Committees Present Progress Reports on Reviews of National Policies

 
 
Islamabad, August 06, 2014; The Youth Parliament Standing Committees on National Security; Foreign Affairs; Finance, Economic Affairs & Planning; Education & Youth Affairs; Law, Justice & Human Rights and Energy presented progress reports on their ongoing reviews of national policies on the first day of the second session of the 6th Youth Parliament Pakistan.
 

Honourable Deputy Speaker Youth Parliament Pakistan Ms. Filza Marri (YP52-SINDH05) administered the oath taking of new members: Mr. Umar Anwar Jahangir (YP12-ICT02), Mr.Suneel Parwani (YP59-SINDH12), Mr. Hassan Masood(YP31-PUNJAB12) and Mr. Naveed-ur-Rehman Anwar(YP18-KP06).

 
 
Chairs of the Youth Standing Committees shared the initial findings of their respective research with the House. They also outlined their plans of action for the remaining term. Each presentation was followed by a lively question and answer session in which the Secretariat Youth Parliament provided feedback as well.
 
Mr. Moazzam Habib (YP38-PUNJAB19), Chairperson Youth Parliament Standing Committee on National Security, Mr. Daniyal Alvi, (YP50-SINDH03), Chairperson Youth Parliament Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sohaib Saeed, (YP02-AJK02), Chairperson Youth Parliament Standing Committee on Finance, Economic Affairs& Planning, Ms. Mizhgan Kirmani YP54-SINDH07, Chairperson Youth Parliament Standing Committee on Education & Youth Affairs, Mr. Waqas Ishtiaq (YP46-PUNJAB27), Vice Chair Youth Parliament Standing Committee on Law, Justice & Human Rights, and Mr. Abdul Haseeb (YP20-PUNJAB01), member of Youth Parliament Standing Committee on Energy, shared progress of their respective Committees.
 
 
The plenary session was adjourned to meet again at 12:00 noon on August 7, 2014.
 
The Members of the 6th Youth Parliament Pakistan have been tasked with developing cogent reviews of national policies which can be presented to the Parliament, Federal Government and Media.
 
PILDAT has earlier conceived, planned and facilitated 5, year-long, batches of Youth Parliament Pakistan in 2007, 2008, 2009-2010, 2012 and 2013, respectively.
