Brief Profile

Mr. Waqas Ishtiaq belongs from Lahore district. After completing his O levels and A levels education from Beaconhouse School System, he was admitted into Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) where he did his Undergraduate degree in Politics and Economics in 2011. During the course of his academics, he actively participated in the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities at LUMS. As a result of his efforts, he was elected as the Vice-President of Amnesty International, LUMS Student Chapter and Founder President of Transparency International LUMS Student Chapter. More recently, he attended Harvard University (Cambridge, Boston, USA) for his graduate studies, where he took special interest in courses such as Public Speaking, etc. Throughout his studies, he pursued Student Activism for various social and economic causes surrounding our society. In future, he aims to work for the economic and social uplift of the deprived sections of the Pakistani society.

Politically, Waqas Ishtiaq is affiliated with Blue Party , Vice Chairperson of Standing Committee on Law, Justice and Human Rights .

Mr. Irshad Ahmed (YP53-SINDH06); Mr. Naveed-ur-Rehman Anwar (YP18-KP06); Mr. Waqas Ishtiaq (YP46-PUNJAB27) and Mr. Javaid Ali Manwa (YP09-GB01) would like to move the following resolution: "This House is of the opinion that electoral representation should be proportionate to the number of popular votes polled in favour of political parties in any election, where the number of seats won should correspond to a party's polling percentage. Adequate laws and legislation should be done accordingly by the Parliament to ensure proper representation of the masses in legislature."
